Background

This is a very simplified app showing a perfect 180 degree turn, through smooth arc, of a windsurfing, wingsurfing, kitesurfing, or other watersport jibe.

Note: click/tap on the legend to turn off the board, wind, or apparent wind arrows to improve visibility of what you are interested in.

The apparent wind represents the wind felt by the board rider as he moves through the jibe.

Suggested settings for exploration

• Finned windsurf jibe: 20kt wind, 15-25kt board speed
• Light wind foil jibe: 10kt wind, 10-25kt board speed
• Overpowered jibe: 30kt wind, 15-25kt board speed
